Privacy Statement

Last updated: 15 September 2026.

Open Brief Network (openbrief.net) is an independent publication without advertising and without state funding. We collect as little visitor data as possible. This statement briefly explains what we do use.

Ahrefs Analytics

This site uses Ahrefs Analytics (analytics.ahrefs.com) to measure how many visitors the site receives and which publications are read. The script loads asynchronously at the end of each page and does not affect loading speed.

  • Processor: Ahrefs Pte. Ltd.
  • Purpose: visit statistics (aggregate, no profiling)
  • Data: anonymous visit data such as pages viewed, referring website, country at region level, device type and timestamp
  • Retention: according to Ahrefs’ standard policy
  • Legal basis: legitimate interest (insight into site usage)

We use no advertising cookies, no social media pixels and no personalisation. No data is shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your rights

Because the analytics used is not aimed at tracking individuals and no personal profiles are built, the privacy impact is minimal. If you prefer not to load the analytics script, you can block it with an ad blocker or your browser’s tracking-prevention feature; the site remains fully functional.

For privacy questions you can use the contact details on the about page.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
